California Ground Beef Recall

A California firm, Richwood Meat Co, Inc., is voluntarily recalling approximately 107,943 pounds of frozen ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today. The list of frozen ground beef products can be found at the USDA-FSIS Web site.

The E. coli problem was discovered through sampling done by the California Department of Health Services in the course of an investigation. The recalled California ground beef was produced on April 28, 2006 and was sent to retail outlets in Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

The recalled ground beef has been linked to E. coli infections in California. If you or your child has been sickened by ground beef, contact the law firm of Pritzker | Ruohonen by calling toll-free at 1-888-377-8900 or e-mail Fred Pritzker.
