Supervalue has issued a warning today that its Albertsons and Save-A-Lot stores may have sold ground beef contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The recalled ground beef was sold at Albertson’s stores in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming and at Save-A-Lot stores in Arizona, California and Nevada. This Supervalue ground beef recall was issued after their supplier, United Food Group LLC., recalled 75,000 pounds of ground beef. (The United Foods Group has expanded the recall to over 5 million pounds of ground beef. At least 13 people have been sickened by the beef. Pritzker | Ruohonen is representing victims of the outbreak linked to these recalled products. Contact Pritzker | Ruohonen for lawsuit information.) Grocery Outlet, Fry’s, Save-Mart, Smart and Final, and Smith’s and Stater Bros. stores may also have sold contaminated ground beef, but they are not in any way associated with Supervalue.
